Madoka Magica was revolutionary in many ways, but when we talk about it in relation to the magical girl genre, it’s important to realize that many works of that genre are in fact full of “serious” themes and capable of making a deep impact. This AMV made me remember that magical girl anime have never really been as fluffy as they are often made out to be.
